About Kristine's Dessert Works
Kristine's Dessert Works is a "Patisserie". We strongly believe that there are several factors that set us apart from an everyday "bakery". The baking industry has changed over the last 50 years, as the waning numbers of highly-trained immigrant pastry chefs were replaced by cost controls and mass production. This "modernization" resulted in lower-quality goods sold at the same high prices. Once supermarkets got into the business, fierce competition forced bakeries to compete by using cheaper, inferior ingredients that further degraded the quality.
Here at Kristine's Dessert Works, we never compromise quality for price. Our establishment may be modern, but our philosophy and techniques are definitely "old school". In the baking world, that's a good thing!
ONLY QUALITY INGREDIENTS - Home baked does NOT necessarily mean a homemade, hand crafted product. Many food establishments advertise "Home Baked" or "Home Made", but what does it really mean? It usually just means they're taking a pre-bought frozen item and baking it off in their establishment. We here at Kristine hand make your product from scratch in the time-honored tradition of European pastry shops to your specifications.
A PROFESSIONAL, "OPEN VIEW" KITCHEN - We here at Kristine's have nothing to hide. We are proud of what we produce and how we produce it. Unlike most food establishments, we do all our production right in the open where our customers can watch us. We want you to see who is making your item, what we are using to make it, where it's being made and how it's being made. After all, before you put something in your body, don't you want to know where it comes from?
PERSONALIZED SERVICE - It's like having your own personal Pastry Chef!!
We will gladly take the time to discuss how to make your special occasion a success. We require 72 hours notice for orders because we hand make every product….fresh to order.
EDUCATIONAL BAKING CLASSES - We want to bring back the "art" of baking. We believe that baking together strengthens personal bonds among family and gives a sense of accomplishment. Come to our modern teaching facility and take "up close and personal" baking classes with our staff.
A PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED CULINARY STAFF - Our pastry staff at Dessert Works is professionally trained at the country's finest cooking schools by some of the world's best Certified Master Pastry Chefs.
